Ramsay Corporation's WeldTest is for use in selecting journey-level welders who have knowledge in the following areas: Print Reading; Welding, Cutting Torch and Arc Air Cutting; Welder Maintenance & Operation; Tools, Machines, Materials & Equipment; Mobile Equipment & Rigging; and Production Welding Calculations.

The WeldTest contains 60 items in a multiple-choice format. In a group of 38 individuals, reliability was 0.92, mean score was 48.11, standard deviation was 9.42, and a standard error of measurement was 2.66.

Ramsay Corporation recommends one manual be added to each initial test purchase. Administration manuals generally include information about administering the test, scoring the test, and interpreting the scores. They do not include a sample copy of the test or an answer key.
